Stolen between the Ist October last and the 16th ultimo, at Tuapeka Flat, near Lawrence, a block of black pine, about 20 inches in diameter and 9 inches long, decayed at the centre ; the property of Patrick White; value ss. Identifiable.

Stolen between 5.30 p.m. on the 16th and 7 a.m. on the 17th ultimo, from the premises of Thomas Meehan, NorthEast Valley, near Dunedin, a yellow duck-wing game pullet, yellow legs, short comb and tail, twelve months old ; value £l. Identifiable.

Jacob Greenberg, alias Joseph Green, is charged, on warrant issued by the Wellington Bench, with the larceny as a bailee, on the Ist ultimo, at Napier, of eight silver watches, nine wooden pipes, six hair-brushes, a clock, twelve photograph frames, twelve pocket-knives, three dozen plated des-sert-spoons, a dozen plated tea-spoons, and three dozen plated forks ; the property of Rose Hyams ; value £7O. Identification doubtful. Description: A Polish Jew, a hawker, eighteen years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, rather stout build, fair complexion and hair, no hair on face, brown eyes, Jewish features, speaks English badly; usually wears a brown-tweed suit. Identifiable. He left Napier on the 2nd ultimo by the steamer “ Waihora,” as a steerage passenger for Sydney, under the name of Joseph Green.
