(See Police Gazette, 1883, page 83.) William Davies, charged on warrant with obtaining £2 from William Campbell by false representations, has been arrested by Constable Arthur J. Bamford, Greymouth Police, and remanded to Westport.

On the Bth or 9th instant, at Mokihinui, Westport, a bullock and a cow, the property of Joshua Annett, were maliciously wounded with gunshot.

On the 14th instant, at Colyer’s Island, near Bluff, three sheep dogs, value £55, the property of Jessie Colyer, were maliciously poisoned, from the effects of which they died.

Ann Russell is charged, on warrant issued by the Wellington Bench, with having indecently exposed her person at Wellington on the 15th ultimo. Description: English, a prostitute, about twenty-three years of age, 5 feet if inches high, slight build, dark complexion, dark brown hair, brown eyes, thin features, and long nose. See Police Gazette, 1883, page 159. She was summoned for tho offence, but did not appear. It is supposed she has gone to the Manawatu District.

Margaret Mary Belinda Todd, alias Ellen Young, alias Margaret Cruicksliank, is charged, on warrant issued by the Rakaia Bench, with having during December last, at Rakaia, obtained board and lodging, value £3 155., from James Rutter by false representations. Description: English, a widow, about fifty-six years of age, 5 feet 2 or 3 inches high, very stout build, fresh complexion, grey hair, blue eyes, large mouth, and double chin. She was discharged from Timaru Gaol during tho fortnight ended the 17th ultimo, after undergoing a sentence of three months’ labour for false pretences.
