Incendiarism.
About 10.45 p.m. on the 19th ultimo an unoccupied sevenroomed two-story wooden house in Tuam Street, Christ church, the property of William John White, was destroyed by lire, which it is supposed was maliciously caused. The house was insured in the Union Office for £3OO.
On the morning of the 2nd inslant, at Winton Plains, Southland, a stable and implement-shed, containing 100 bags of wheat, seven horses, sheaf oats, a self-binder, harness, &c., the property of George Crosbie, value about £6OO, were destroyed by fire, which it is supposed was wilfully caused. The buildings were insured in the New Zealand Office for £l5O, but the other property was not insured.
