Denis Murphy, alias Leary, is charged, on warrant issued by the Waipawa Bench, with assaulting Constable Frank Schulz, at Ormondville, Hawke’s Bay, at 6.30 p.m on the 7th instant, while in the execution of his duty. Description : Irish, a navvy, about thirty years of age, about 5 feet 8 inches high, stout build, dark complexion, dark hair beard whiskers and moustache, broad shoulders; dressed in dark coat, white moleskin trousers, and dark hat. Ho worked until lately on the Makotoku Railway-line. He went towards Woodville, supposed en route for Wellington or Palmerston North.
