Deserters from Merchant Vessels.
Charles Anderson, Rudolph Olsen, and John Anderson are charged with deserting from the brigantine “ Nerderhof,” at Dunedin, on the 27th ultimo. Description : Charles Anderson is a German, a seaman, twenty years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, stout build, fair fresh complexion, brown hair, no hair on face ; dressed in bluejacket, brown-tweed trousers, and soft black hat; can speak very little English. Olsen is a German, a seaman, twenty years of age, 5 feet high, stout build, full face, fair complexion and hair, no hair on face; dressed in dark-tweed suit and elastic-side boots; can speak very little English. John Anderson is a Dane, a steward, nineteen years of age, about 5 feet high, slight build, fair complexion, very light hair, no hair on face, large mouth ; dressed in dark-tweed suit.
Frederick William Sharpe is charged, on warrant issued by the Lyttelton Bench, with deserting from the ship “ Waitangi,” at Lyttelton, on the 29th or 30th ultimo. Description : English, an apprentice-seaman, seventeen years of age, about 5 feet high, medium build, fair complexion and hair, blue eyes, large thick nose, when walking carries his head forward ; wore new soft black-felt hat with coid and tassel. A reward of £2 is offered for his arrest.
