Horse and Cattle Stealing.
Supposed stolen on the 4th or sth July last, from a paddock at Sandridge, near Christchurch, a red-and-white pure-bred Ayrshire heifer, about two and a half years old, had on a leather headstall with link for rope; the property of Walter Hogg; value £2O. Identifiable.
Supposed stolen during the night of the 15th ultimo, from a paddock at New Plymouth, a light-chestnut cob gelding, four years old, about 14 hands high, thick rib, white streak on forehead, branded 2 O under half-circle on both shoulders, the brand on one side rather indistinct; the property of George Stockley; value £lO. Identifiable. It is supposed that the horse lias been taken to Parihaka.
Supposed stolen during the night of the 22nd ultimo, from a paddock at Riccarton, near Christchurch, a light-draught chestnut gelding, six years old, 16 hands high, white stripe down face, a little white on hind fetlocks, short switch tail, unshod ; the property of James Flack ; value £25. Identifiable

The bay mare, bay colt, and chestnut colt, the property of Samuel Wilson, supposed stolen from Wanganui, have been recovered.
Supposed stolen during the night of the 20th ultimo, from a paddock at Caversliam, a strong dark-bay saddle-mare, heavy in foal, forelock cut across, dark points, branded W, rather indistinct on near shoulder; the property of Robert Baxter; value £if>. Identifiable.
Stolen in June last, from a paddock at Remuera, a bay saddle pony mare, about 15 hands high, black points, small star on forehead, unbrauded; the property of James Wriglev. Suspicion attached to Charles Hollands, a German, a sailor, twenty-five years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, medium build, grey eyes, fair hair, light sandy beard, whiskers, and moustache. He left Remuera about the time the mare was stolen.
