(From Gazette, 1880, pages 1003 and 1011.) Hares to be deemed Game within Provincial District oe Nelson.
(1.5.) Hercules Robinson, Governor. A PROCLAMATION. Whereas by a Proclamation made under “The Protection of Animals Act, 1873,” dated the thirteenth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-nine, it was declared that hares should cease to be deemed game within the Provincial District of Nelson : And whereas it is expedient to amend such Proclamation :
Now, therefore, I, Hercules George Robert Robinson, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers vested in me by the above-named Act, and by “ The Abolition of Provinces Act, 1875,” do hereby rescind the aforesaid Proclamation, and do proclaim and declare that, from and after the date hereof, hares shall be deemed to be game, and to come within the operation of the said “ Protection of Animals Act, 1873.”
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir Hercules George Robert Robinson, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same ; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this thirteenth day of July, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty. Clerk of Resident Magistrate’s Court Appointed. Department of Justice, Wellington, 14th July, 1880. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Constable Patrick Bourke to be Clerk, at Dargaville, of the Resident Magistrate’s Court for the District of Kaipara, and Clerk of the Licensing Court for the District of Kaipara.
