On the morning of the 31st ultimo an unoccupied house at Tapanui, the property of George Woods, was maliciously set on fire, but the fire was discovered and extinguished before any damage was done. The house was not insured.
On the morning of the 22nd ultimo, at Toi Tois, Southland, a stack of wheat and a stack of oats, value £SO, the property of Philip Vincent, were maliciously set on fire, by which they were destofcyed. * . • » '
—: — On the morning of the 4th instant, a straw shed in Sydney Street, Wellington, occupied by Terence Gormley, was discovered on lire, which damaged the shed, a cab, and oaten hay to the extent of £SO. It is supposed that the fire was wilfully caused. The property- was not insured.
During the night of the 26th ultimo, at Limestone Plains, five stacks of oats, value £9O, the property of Thomas Gilmouiv were destroyed by fire, which it is supposed was wilfully caused. The stacks were insured.
