Horse and Cattle Stealing.

Five of the cattle, the property of Charles Coster, reported stolen from Heddon Bush, near Winton, have been recovered. Thompson an I Sons, of New Hirer, near Winton, recently sold a large mob of cattle to Alexander Thompson, a butcher, residing at O.tmaru. Mr. Coster’s cattle may be among this mob which has been driven to Oamaru.

Supposed stolen about the 10th ultimo, from South Rakaia, Canterbury District, a light draught bay mare, 4 years oid, 15 hands high, a small white streak down face, near hind fetlock white, unbranded, fiat-boned ; the property of Arthur Makeig; value £22. Identifiable.
