He arrived from England by t.lie ship “Famenoth” about two months ago. He pawned the coat at Neumegen’s pawn office. It is supposed he has gone to Waikato.

Stolen about the 19th or 20th November last, from the coach which plies between Ross and Hokitika, a brown paper parcel containing two ladies’ grey felt wrappers, one sewn with red thread ; about twenty-six yards of black silk, a black Hyde Park shawl, and two children’s grey clonk jackets ; tlio property of Thomas Learmont; value £lO. Identifiable by trade mark.

Stolen on the 16th September last, from the cart of James G-abey, at Temukn, Canterbury District, a new cart-saddle and breeching; value £3. Identifiable. Suspicion attached to Joseph Harding, English, a carter and ploughman, twenty-nine years of age, 5 feet 3 inches high, dark hair, very little beard or whiskers, slovenly appearance ; wore old gvey tweed clothes, watertight boots, and soft black felt hat.

Stolen between 5 p m. on the 7th and G 45 a.m. on the Bth instant, from the prison carpenters’ shop near the gaol at Dunedin, a common carpenters’ tool basket, containing a me-dium-sized coopers’ adze, a coopers’ draw-knife about 1G inches long, straight back, a coopers’ 4-lb. hammer, branded /,\ on one side, a large spokesheaf, a coopers’ upright driver with a large iron ferrule round the top of handle, and a common 2-foot rule; the property of the Government..
