SAILORS’ CHRISTMAS.

(To the Editor.)

Sir,—Kindly permit me to make my usual appeal on behalf of the visiting seamen, who will be in port on Christmas Day. For thirteen years the Flying Angel Mission to Seamen has provided a Christmas treat for sailors and stokers, etc., and last year the Masonic Hall, Northcote, was packed by men of the mercantile marine. Assistance in the form of subscriptions and provisions, etc., would enable me to make the 25th of December a happy day for many seafaring men in the Port of Auckland. A postcard to c/o Diocesan Church Office will receive prompt attention, —I am, etc.,

(Signed) ARTHUR P. COWIE, Missioner to Seamen
