For all horses that have never won a trotting race exceeding the value of 25sovs at time of nomination. Horses in this event will be handicapped to do 4.0 or better. Nomination 205., acceptance 30s. One mile and ahalf. 2. BOROUGH HANDICAP TROT (Saddle) of 150sovs; second horse 20 sovs, and third horse lOsovs each from the stake. Horses in this event will be handicapped to do 3.55 or better. Nomination 205., acceptance 50s. One mile and ahalf. 3. NEW ZEALAND TROTTING GOLD CUP (Harness) of 450sovs (a Gold Cup value lOOsovs, presented by E. L. Riddiford, Esq., and 350sovs in specie): second horse 70sovs, and third horse 30sovs each from the stake. Horses in this event will be handicapped to do 4.48 or better. Nomination 3sovs, acceptance ssovs. Two miles. 4. PRESIDENT’S HANDICAP TROT (Harness) of 200sovs; second horse 30sovs, and third horse 20sovs each from the stake. For unhoppled trotters only. ELECTRIC HANDICAP TROT (Harness) of 200sovs; second horse 30 sovs, and third horse 20sovs each from the stake. Horses in this event will be handicapped to do 3.0 or better. Nomination l%sovs, acceptance 3sovs. One mile and aquarter. NOMINATIONS for all events, accompanied by fees, close with the Secretary on FRIDAY, JANUARY 3, 1919, at I*2 noon. Telegraph Office Petone closes 5 p.m. Note. —Races No. 6 and 8 will be handicapped and started by the yards system. RULES AND REGULATIONS. Attention to be drawn to the following:— AH stakes to be paid in full. All races to be run under the New Zealand Rules of Trotting. All winners of any race after the handicaps are declared may be rehandicapped. No entry will be received for any race except on the condition that all disputes, claims and objections arising from the carrying out of this programme shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards or whoever they may appoint. Their decision on all points connected with the carrying out of this programme shall be final, but, however, is subject to appeal to the Association, except on questions of fact. In all nominations the name, age, pedigree, colour, sex and previous performance of the horse, the name, of owner and trainer, and colours of rider or driver must be given. Every owner of trotting horses and ponies in New Zealand must register with the Association all horses in their possession, giving brand, age, pedigree, and general description of each horse, prior to nominating in any race. Any unregistered horse or pony nominated for any trotting meeting held under these rules shall be disqualified. The fee for registration is 205., which must be paid to the N.Z. Trotting Association before nominating. Every person applying for admission to any course, and every person entering or endeavouring to enter a horse for any race, and every person having or subsequently acquiring any interest in such horse, shall be deemed to accept all the conditions and restrictions imposed or implied by these Rules, and to be barred from questioning the action of the Conference, Appeal Judges, Association, Club, Racing Club or body, committee, stewards, officials, agents or servants in respect of any such person or horse, or any person connected therewith otherwise than is provided for in Part XXX. of the New Zealand Rules of Trotting.
