Hayr’s Office, Auckland, on THURSDAY, JANUARY 9, 1919. PENALTIES. The winner of any flat race after the declaration of weights to carry a penalty of 71b., two or more races 121 b. penalty. The winner of the Kamo Handicap, 51b. This rule to apply to Whangarei meeting only. RULES AND REGULATIONS. All races to be run under the New Zealand Rules of Racing. Entries by telegram must be confirmed in writing at the earliest possible opportunity. Owners, trainers and others are notified that entries or acceptances must be accompanied by the necessary amount in cash. Owners are responsible for penalties. Country owners are requested to register their colours. All persons intending to withdraw horses are required to give notice to that effect to the Secretary or Clerk of Scales one half hour before the official time of starting the race. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this rule shall pay a fine to be imposed by the Stewards not exceeding 20sovs to the race fund. Prior to any race the Stewards may order a parade in front of the stand. The owner of any horse absent from such parade without permission of the Stewards will be fined 2sovs. Any owner running a horse in colours other than those registered in his name will be fined Isov.
