OHINEMURI JOCKEY CLUB.
ANNUAL MEETING. Splendid nominations have been received for the Ohinemuri Jockey Club’s annual meeting, which is to be held on the Paeroa Racecourse on Saturday, March 16. Twenty-three horses figure in the Ohinemuri Cup (one mile and a-quarter), the number including Uncle Ned, Mullingar, Munster and Colonel Soult, in addition to the following recent Cup winners:—Glenopal (Takapuna and Taumarunui), Royal Irish (Tauranga, Whangarei and Rotorua) and Lady Energy (Thames). Special interest is centred in the race for the Ohinemuri Cup, as it constitutes the last Cup to be run in the Auckland province during the present season. The Paeroa Steeplechase (two miles and a-half) has attracted no less than 17 entries, among the number being Bonnie Jean, Golden Glow, The Channel and Speedwell Mac. A good field should
therefore be on hand to contest this cross-country event at Paeroa, especially as steeplechases at Ellerslie and Avondale follow close after the Ohinemuri meeting. The following is a list of the nominations:—>
