AUCKLAND RACING CLUB.

SUMMER MEETING. The summer meeting of this club commences ou Tuesday next. The rain of Sunday did a lot of good, and the course should be fast. The following is the order of the events: — SHORTLAND PLATE of 300sovs. One mile.

Ayah, Rockfield, Bon d’Or, and the selected of Mr. W. G. Stead’s pair, Shrill or Cheloma, are likely to be hard to beat, and one or other of the two last-named may end up favourite. GREAT NORTHERN FOAL STAKES of lOOOsovs. Six furlongs.

Bisogne, Shrill (if reserved) and Hyttus may be handy, and with ordinary luck in getting away. The ‘firstnamed is exceptionally brilliant. NURSERY HANDICAP of 350sovs. Five furlongs.

Ample, Mountjoy and Vagabond may be a useful trio in this race. CHRISTMAS HANDICAP of 350sovs. One mile.

Bedford, Bunting and Hyllus will be gallop.ng on in this event. Glenroy’s chance would be improved if the going were soft on the day.

The Islington Plate is run on the becond day, and with such as Desert Gold, Sasanof, The Toff, Egypt and Chortle amongst these engaged, and with twenty-five still in, there should be a good race. The 43rd Derby is run on the third day, and The Toff, Sasanof and Egypt are the best of those left in. The Toff, Sasanof, Egypt, Desert Gold and Chortle represent the best form in the Auckland Plate. The Royal Stakes will prove a royal race indeed,, if Desert Gold, Bisogne, Hyttus, Simonides, Biplane and the best of the other tv o-year-olds are seen out.
