PAHIATUA RACING CLUB.
ANNUAL GATHERING
The Pahiatua Racing Club’s annual meeting is set down for decision on the club’s course, Pahiatua, on Wednesday, September 13, and promises to prove a most successful gathering. Principal interest is centred m the Pahiatua Handicap, of 120sovs., 144 miles, which is certain to attract a good entry. The Hack and Hunters’ Steeplechase, of 85sovs., about two miles, should induce owners of hunters to give their horses a chance to earn distinction at this gathering, which is held at an opportune time, the majority of hunters being in capital trim to tackle this cross-country event. The Telephone Handicap, of QOsovs., five furlongs; the Welter Hack Handicap, of 70sovs., seven furlongs; Ballance Hack Handicap, of 75sovs., one mile and a distance; Hack Flying Handicap, of 70sovs., six furlongs; and the Maiden Hack Race, of 65sovs., five furlongs, otter opportunities to owners and trainers of flat racers to nominate their charges, while the Hack Handicap Hurdle Race, of SOsovs., one mile and five furlongs, should also receive attention from the hurdle brigade.
