The Auckland Racing Club has £l9OO invested in Auckland Harbour debentures; the Canterbury Jockey Club has £6ll 17s. sd. on deposit; the Dunedin Jockey Club has £lOBO invested; the Greymouth Jockey Club a bank balance of £92 135.; the Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club £6OO on deposit; the Taranaki Jockey Club £750 4s. lid.; the Wanganui Jockey Club a credit of £1374 17s. 6d.; and the Wellington Racing Club £361 on fixed deposit. « * * * Apropos of the proposed amendments to the Rules of Racing, the following is one agreed to by the Victoria Racing Club Committee: “If the committee or stewards of the Victoria Racing Club or any racing club within the suburban radius (that is 20 miles from the General r’ost Office, Melbourne) refuse to allow a rider to ride, or horse to run, at the meetings held by such club, then such rider shall not ride, or horse run, in any race at any meeting held within the suburban radius, without the permission of the committee of the V.R.C. * * * * Wadden, an Australian ’chaser, has competed in eight steeplechases run on the Randwick track, and has only once missed a place, his other efforts resulting in three wins, two seconds, and two thirds. Wadden’s first steeplechase win at Randwick was in October, 1913. and, with the addition of second money on one occasion last year, his earnings in steeplechases at the course mentioned total about £l5OO. The remarkable part of it, says “Pilot,” is that £1049 of that sum should have teen earned after he had turned eleven. Many trainers have an objection to jumpers, but for Randwick a useful steeplechaser is worth its place in any Sydney team.
Sea Pink has been treated as a back number in the Melbourne Cup with 7.8, and Blackall has 5.3. Blackall has been handicapped on his New Tealand Cup and Metropolitan Handicap form, and. has been estimated to ’mprove tnereGii. as some other members of the family have done with age. If Blackall has done so he will carry his impost all right, but that question has yet to be settled. He rot into the Metropolitan with 7.8, which seems a reasonable weight. Sasanoff stays, and under light imposts may pay his way on the othp” side. Altogether the New Zo. horses have been treated as if New Zealand form is a tit below that in -Australia, where they hav more stables and studs to draw ficm. Chortle looks to have a chanct h: the Epsom Handicap.
