OPUNAKE RACING CLUB. A RECORD MEETING. The Opunaki Racing Club were particularly fortunate with their annual meeting- held last week. Records were established all round; there was a record attendance, the gate being a considerable advance on any previous year; the fields were a record; and the totalisatoi fi=, ures showed an increase of nearly 12500 on the previous record. The investments for the day amounted to £77 82, against £5444 last year. The results were as follows: — MAIDEN PLATE, of 35sovs. Six furlongs. A protest was lodged by the owner of Kiwitahi against Topic receiving second money, on the ground that the apprentice’s allowance had been wrongfully claimed.
