PONSONBY BILLIARD ACADEMY.
E. BROWN WINS THE SNOOKER TOURNAMENT. The final of the Snooker tournament promoted by R. Thomas, of the Ponsonby Billiard Academy in College Hill, was decided last week between E. Brown (25), who drew a bye in the semi-final, and E. Riley (40). There was a good attendance, and the game, though nothing sensational occurred in the way of breaks, was of the solid and consistent order, and proved interesting, victory being gained by E. Brown, who defeated Riley by twentytwo points. The winner’s best effort was 16, while the loser’s best was 10. Riley defeated S. Frick in the semifinal.
