GRAFTON LEAD OFF WELL AGAINST PARNELL.

After so much rain during the week it was only to be expected that the wicket would be all in favour of the bowlers, and this proved the case. The one team which rose to the occasion was, however, Grafton, who remained in possession all the afternoon, putting together 197 runs. At one time it looked as though they would do better, as the century was reached with only two wickets down. Graham topscored with 40, Sloman getting 38, Jones 38, and R. Sloman 24. Carter, with four wickets for 32, and Cliff with five for 57, did best with the ball.
