WAITEMATA LICENSING COMMITTEE.

The quarterly meeting of this committee was held last Friday morning at the Devonport Borough Council Chambers. The members present were Messrs A. Alison, R. H. Duder ,G. E. White, and John Edson. In the. absence of the Stipendiary Magistrate (Mr R. W. Dyer), Mr Edson was elected to the chair. The only business was the transfer of the Esplanade Hotel, Devonport, from Edgar Horace White to John M. Franklin, the police reports on all the other hotels being favourable. The next licensing meeting will be held on Tuesday at noon, for the city, in the Magistrate’s Court, while on Wednesday the licensing committee meeting will be held at the Parnell Borough Chambers at noon for that borough.
