MR. EDWIN GEACH.

It was in December, 1895, that Mr Edwin Geach plunged into that proverbial tide that either leads to fortune or failure. For a time forsaking journalism —being then a young Melbourne freelance with decided theatrical inclinations, and under the father of all present managers the Hon. George Coppin—he started his career as a theatrical manager. In that remarkable short space of time Mr Geach has risen from the lowest rung of the proverbial ladder, and has climbed into the position that to-day he stands out as one of the leading men of the

road. Three times he has travelled rotund the world, with six tours of New Zealand, and can talk “ shop” from W® Bluff, in the South, to far away Mandalay in the North, and from Cairo in the West to fascinating Tokio in the East—surely a record that would take a lot of beating. Amongst his latter day geripl successes is the phenomenal tour of the great Carl Hertz, whose triumphant tour of the world still lives in pleasant memory; whilst the tpur of Spnaji Macdonald, under Mr management, has still a strong riyal in his present venture, in which he is associated with that desirable London comedian Mr George Willoughby, namely, “ The Wrong Mr fright, ’* is generally voted one of tlje successes of the day. All his experiences and travels have taken place in the short space of seven years.
