We this week give a picture of The Grafter, the winner of the Melbourne Cup. Late news frpm Melbourne is to the effect that the common looking son of Gozo and Industry has been sold to go to England. The photo of Tirant d’Eau, the winner of the New Zealand Cup, makes a good companion picture to that of The Grafter. There is also a second picture of Tirant d’Eau, returning to scale after winning the important Riccarton event. The Grandstand and Lawn at Riccarton forms the subject of another, and a snapshot of the finish of the Melbourne Cup, taken by those well-known artists, Messrs Wall Bros., of St. Kilda, will be found interesting, showing as it does nearly every horse in the race. Cyclists will be entertained with the picture of the promoters of the monster sports at Wanganui on Boxing Day.
