OTAHUHU TROTTING CLUB.
The annual report of the above club, adopted at the annual meeting held on the 20th instant, was as follows: —“ Your Committee have much pleasure in presenting their fourth annual balance-sheet and report, and have to congratulate you on account of having had a fairly successful season. The balance on the year’s working amounts to £69 3s 7d, which added to last year’s balance of £5l 15s, makes a total balance of £l2O 18s 7d, less amount of liabilities £5 4s, which leaves a net credit balance of £ll5 14s 7d. This your committee consider very satisfactory in view of the amount (£399 net) given away in stakes. In view of the success which has attended the Club during the past season, your Committee think it would be advisable to give the same amount in stakes per day during the incoming season. Your Committee have much pleasure in reporting that during last season there was not a single protest lodged. Nor was it necessary to hold an inquiry. The Club’s success during last season was owing to the prompt manner in which all payments were made. Your Committee are very sorry to have to state that a misunderstanding has arisen between the Auckland Trotting Club and the Canterbury Trotting Association, which, if not amicably settled, will prevent the same horses trotting in both districts. However, your Committee trusts that a favourable solution of the difficulty will be arrived at between the two governing bodies. As there were no further nominations than the number required to fill the vacancies, no election will be necessary.”
