DUNEDIN JOCKEY CLUB’S SPRING MEETING.

The Dunedin Jockey Club’s Spring Meeting has attracted good entries from the Southern stables, but a glance at the nominations, which appear in another column, shows that the Auckland contingent is conspicious by its absence. The Otago Cup of 400S0VS, one mile and a half, has attracted twenty-three horses, amongst which are Melinite, Ich Dien, Prime Warden, and Stepniak. and provided the latter starts, Mr Stead's representative should be very handy when the post is passed. For the Federal Handicap of 150S0VS, six furlongs, thirty horses have been nominated. The St. Andrews’ Handicap of 2oosovs, one mile and a half, has twenty-seven names against it, and the President’s Handicap of 2oosovs, one mile and a furlong, has attracted exactly the sai»e number of horses.
