AUCKLAND RACING CLUB.
A CQMMITTEE meeting of the Auckland Racing Club was held on Friday afternoon last, when the following programmes were submitted for approval and passed :—Lake Racing Club, 27th February, 1892; Gisborne Spring, 9th Nov., 1891'; ‘Gisborne Summer, 19th and 20th Jan., 1892; Onehunga Racing Club Spring, sth December, 1891 ; Onehunga Racing Club Summer, 16th January, 1892 ; Pakuranga Hunt Club, ' 'l7th October, 1891 ; Waikato Hunt Club, 3rd October, 1891. Permission was granted to the last named Club to use the Claudelands course and to the Pakuranga Hunt Club to use the Ellerslie course. A letter was received from the Waikato asking that the conditions of the Hunters’ Stakes be altered so as to allow of the Waikato horses being accepted as having hunted with the hounds three times, the conditions being six times. The Committee decided to reply that they cannot alter the conditions this year to suit the Waikato horses, but they will endeavour to do so in future. It was agreed to give the Railway Commissioners a small piece of land to enable them to divide the racecourse platform into a first and second class station, and that the tariff for this season be one shilling all round. Including railway fare, as arranged by delegates in Wellington, is. second class and> 3s. first class. Eight- tenders were received for the proposed alterations at Ellerslie. The lowest being was considered too high, and they were all declined, and the Committee have abandoned the proposed alterations for the present.
