ARMENIA
The cabled news of fresh atrocities in Armenia call to one's mind what occurred in 1895-96, when the murder of a Turkish policeman by an Armenian, in all probability under great provocation, resulted in a fight between the two races and a succession of most brutal massacres, which caused the British, French, and Russian ambassadors to interfere, although the final settlement
was by no means as satisfactory as it should have been to the nations who interposed, Had more determination been shown it w probable that this now outbreak would not have occurred.
