Hawera, November Ki. “ Our Regiment.’’ Most successful was the amateur performance of "Our Regiment,” staged at the Opera House last Thursday night by the Stratford Dramatic Society. The scenery was splendid, particularly in the third act —the gardens at Mr. Dobbinson’s plain and fancy dress ball. Of the characters, Captain, and Mrs. Dampen, as Lieutenant Huy Warrenen and Enid Thurston, played their respective parts to perfection. Others in the caste who all acted their parts admirably were: Mrs. I niacke, Mrs. Hogg, Miss Cameron, Capt. Stevens, Mrs P. Budd, Mrs Cameron. Mr Bond, and Mr. Lonergan. Some of those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Cowern, Mr. and Mrs. Webster, Capt. and Mrs. Cardale, Mr. and Mrs. Raine, Mr. and Airs. O’Callaghan, Mr. and Mrs. Sutton, Mr. and Mrs Page, Mrs Fantham, .Mr Bruce, Mrs. Jotl, Mr., Mrs., ami Miss Caplen. Mrs. Duckworth, Mrs. R. McLean, Mrs. Wallace, Mrs. Rennells (Stratford), Mrs. Holder, Mr. and Mrs. (Hasson, Mrs. Bayley, Mr. and Mrs. Kimbell, Mrs. and Miss Dingle, Misses Wlrite, Raine, Glenn (2), Morse, Nolan (2), Reilly (2), Baird i Hawke’s Bay), Williamson, Messrs. Nanearrow, Nalder, Parkinson, Whitehorn, Bayley, Bridge, Mason. Personal. Mr. and Mrs. Carey, who have been spending a fortnight’s holiday in the Auckland district, returned to Hawera last night. Mrs. Page has returned home after a few days spent in Wellington. Airs. Collins (Sydney) is staying with her daughter, Mrs. Captain Stevens. Mrs. Barton has returned from Wellington.
