October 12. At die’ue. A brilliant social function was the “At Home” given by Mr. and Mrs. Athol F. Howarth in the Town Hall last Tuesday night. The hall was beautifully decorated with nikan palms, flags, and Chinese lanterns. A marquee was erected outside, which was also very prettily decorated. A recherche supper was served at one end of the hall, curtained off. The table decorations were carried out on an elaborate scale in Starlet and white. Mrs. Howarth received her guests wearing a very dainty frock of green shot silk taffeta, trimmings of heavy silver embroidery and chiffon, the skirt being prettily taught up at one side with a bunch of pink moss roses.
