September 21. On the Links. Saturday was a perfect day for golf, and numbers of golfers, were out. A dainty tea was provided by Airs A. Bees and the Alisses Bees. Some of those present wore: Alesdamcs King. Aforgan, Adair, Thorne George, Willock. and Fenwick, Alisses King, de Lautour (2), Nolan (2), Bennett. Alurray, ( oleman, Davis (2), Dodgsbun, Sweet, Graham, Chrisp, Faulkner, and Lusk, Messrs W il lock (2),Grant, Thorne George, O'Meara. Browne, Evans, Gibson, Howie. The most successful performance which the Shakespeare Club has yet given was undoubtedly their reading of “Twelfth Night” last evening at Holy Trinity Hall. The characters were east as follows: —Duke Orseno, Mr E. H. Mann; Sebastian, Mr A. Webb; Antonio, Mr G. J. Cox; Valentine, Mr McKay; Sir Toby Belch, Mr J. Nicol; Sir Andrew Agueeheek, Mr W. Samson; Malvolio, Mr F. J. Rowley; Fabian, Mr MeKay; Feste, Mr G. E. barton; Priest, Mr Cox; Olivia, Mrs N. Hooper; Viola, Mrs W. J. Barlow; Maria, Mrs W. A. Smith; Chorus, Miss A. M. Hyett. A pleasing feature of the performance wan the excellent rendering to the Clown songs, "O, Mistress Mine,” and “When I was a Tiny Boy,’’ by- Mr V. Harre.

Personal. Mr ami Mrs F. VV. Trail are in Wellington for the golf championship. Miss E. Rose is an a short visit to Gisborne.
