September 21 Dauce. On Wednesday evening Mrs A. 'funks gave a most enjoyable dance al her house in Willow Avenue, for Mis.-. Pickett (Thames), who is at present spending a holiday here. Everything was delight fully arranged, and dancing was kept up with much spirit until quite a late* hour. Mrs Tunks received, wearing a princess frock of cream silk, daintily trimmed with luce. Iler guest. Miss Pickett, also wore cream silk; Mrs Manuel, black lace; Mrs Ashworth, emerald green satin, veiled with black jetted net ; Mrs Shearman, a soft gown of heliotrope shades; Mrs Baigent, old rose silk veiled with black jetted ninon, Oriental trimming; Mrs Tollemache, black velvet; Miss Samuel, cream silk, silver trimmings; Miss Nelson, a black and white striped dress; Miss ('arte, whie embroi dered muslin; Miss Wrigley, pale green silk and silver; Miss Horne, pair blue and crystal trimmings; Miss Kirk, cream nun's veiling; Mrs Merrilees, pale pink silk; Mrs Clery, black velvet, Maltese lace; Messrs Mount fort, McLeod, Dailey, Lyon, Tollemache, Cook, Clery, McrriIces, Baigent, Ashworth. Matheson. Tudhopc, Day. Bridge. The Bridge Club closed its season on Thursday evening. Unfortunately, the evening was wet, and the attendance small. After play was over, Mrs man, who has been the leading spirit in the club, was presented with a. dainty necklet and bracelet by the members.
