September 2*l. Pictures. On Friday evening there was a large attendance at His Majesty’s Theatre. Among those 1 noticed were: Mr. and Airs. Bacon, Mrs. and Miss Innes, Hon. and Mrs. Townshend, Mr. and Mrs. Best, Mrs. Holme, Mr. and Miss Brittain, Misses Farmer (2), Mrs. and 'Miss Dodson, Miss Butler, Miss Burgess, Miss Neville, Miss tSot t-Smith, and Mr. and Airs. Whelan. Welcome Social. On ATonday evening a most enjoyable flocial wa-. held in the Church of Nativity iSchoolroom to welcome Dr. W. C. Sadlier (Bishop of Nelson). During the (•.veiling Mr. .1. White presented to the Right Rev. Lord Bishop an address from the parishioners of’the Anglican Church ’with a few well chosen words. Musical items were rendered by Mrs. Mills, Airs. Higginson, Mr. Gray, Mr. Kobin ►on, and two glees by the church choir. A very dainty supper was served. Amongst those present were: Mesdames Grace, Skinner, Girling. Scottish Gathering. On Tuesday evening a most successful gathering was held in the Blenheim Town Hall by the Scottish Society of Marlborough for members and their friends. Until 9.30 p.m. the guests were entertained by an excellent concert programme. all items being Scotch. The floor was then cleared for dancing. Perry’s orchestra supplied the music. A delicious supper was laid out on the stage, the tallies -being daintily decorated with spring flowers and heath. Personal. Aliss H. McCallum is visiting friends in Wellington. Mrs. Teshpmaker-Shute has returned from Wellington. Mrs. Bamford (Nelson), who has been the guest of Mrs. S. Floranep, left on Saturday. •Aliss Broad (Wellington) has been visiting Mrs. It Adams. Al-axwell Road. • Miss Skinner has returned from her 'Mesdames Smith and Haslett, Waivisit to Wellington. Airs. Maclaine has returned from Nelson.

Airs. Cheek returned on Saturday from a holiday spent in Auckland. Hon. and Mrs. F. M. B. Fisher are the guests of Dr. aml Mrs. Bennett. Maxwell Road. Aliss 'Mcßae, Altimarlock, is visiting her aunt, Mrs. J. Mowat Springlands. Air. and Mrs. W. Mcßae, Aotea, are spending a few da vs at the Criterion Hotel.

The Kishop of Nelson (Dr. W. Sadlier) is spending a few days in Ulen heim.
