June 22nd. At Golf. At the Poverty Bay golf links last Saturday afternoon a men's handicap tournament took place. A large number of ladies arrived for afternoon tea. the links being practically devoted to the men on Saturdays. Mesdames. A. Jj. ■Muir and J. W. J. Preston and Miss Taylor provided a delicious tea. Those present were: —Mesdames King. Barlow, •Willcock, Field, Busvke. Traill, Thorne. George. Adair. Burke. Morgan. Murray, Bull, Blair eott. Misses Davies. Nolan, Jameison ( .istchureh). Bull, Black (2). Willis, Murray, de Isiutour. Fulkner (2), McCredie,' Rees.

Personal. Airs. G. O. K. Sainsbury is staying with her mother, Airs. W. G. Sherratt, Wdi.itaupoko. 'Air. and Mrs. S. Reed are the guests of Airs. J. Williams. Airs. \\ . L. Roes (Gisborne) is at present with her daughter, Mrs, 11. B. Lusk, Napier.
