November 3. Golf. J he Wanganui golf season was closed last Saturday, when mixed foursomes were played for prizes presented-by Mr. Watson (the president). Thirty ypuples started, and the competition was so close that no fewer than seven couples tied for first place, with a score of one down on bogey, a result which must be highly. gratifying to the . handicapping committee. It was decided to play off the ties next Saturday. Afternoon tea was provided by the ladies’ and the prizes were presented by the captain's wife (Mrs. Hole). Amongst those on *he links were- Mrs. H. Miss Moore, of Wanganui, is staying in Wellington for some time. Miss K. Fitzlierbert, of Wellington, is staying in Wanganui. Mrs. Fletcher Harrison, of Wanganui, is the guest of Mrs. Peat in Feilding. Mrs. W. C. Wall, of St. John's Hill, who has been on a seven-months’ trip of the North Island and Australia, has returned.
