August H. Kinking. The attendance and popularity of the rink have increased. Amongst the linkers last week 1 noticed: Alesdlames Wake, Skoglund, Paget, Rennell. Chinchin, Hobbs, Porritt, Malone, Alackay, Stronach, O’Brien. Fussell, Alackay, Wake (2), James (2), Alessrs Porritt, Rennell, ( hinchin. Dr. Paget, Alalone, Spence, Dr. Stevens, Dr. Carberry and others. On the Links. Despite the very wet weather of Thursday, quite a number of enthusiasts went to the links, where a match was played between the Inglewood and Stratford teams, resulting in a victory for the latter. Mrs Raikes provided afternoon tea. The members of the Holy Trinity Church Choir gave a most enjoyable concert and social on Thursday evening. No doubt the very unfavourable weather affected the attendance. Bridge. Airs Raikes entertained a number of guests at bridge on Friday evening. Mrs Paget wore black sequined not tunic over blue satin; Airs Wake, black Chantilly lave and velvet, HonitQn lace berthe; Mrs C hinchin, black silk and cream net; Airs Kennel, eau de nil taffeta, Juliet cap, hair ornament; Mrs Hogg, pale blue, trimmed black velvet, and jet ornament; Airs Stubbs, nattier blue voile, trimmed steel silk galon; Mrs Richards, white taffeta, trimmed Oriental drapings; Mrs C raw-haw , black velvet, with jet and
paddy green berthe; Mrs Budge, M ae |£ velvet ; Mrs ( asey, black silk, cream garniture; Miss Tester (New Plymouth) brown silk, trimmed gold and brown galon; Miss Harden, cream voile. Mrs Stubbs entertained a few friends at bridge on Thursday evening.
