STEVEN—HARRISON.

A pretty wedding was quietly celebrated in Auckland on the 11th inst., when Mr. Alexander Steven, son of Mr. William Steven, of Jessie-street, Wellington, was married to Miss Ada Harrison eldest daughter of Mrs. Wright Harrison, of Auckland. The ceremony was performed at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, by the Rev. Cecil Watson. Th® bride was given away by her eldest brother, Mr. H. Harrison. She wore a dress of ivory ninon over silk, trimmed with guipure lace. The veil and orange blossom which she wore were kindly lent by an old friend. She carried a shower bouquet of white roses, paper narcissi and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaids were her. sisters, Misses Alice and Mabel Harrison, who wore dresses of white robe muslin, embroidered, and black velvet hats with touches of white fur and white lace. The principal bridesmaid carried a shower bouquet of pale pink roses, and the second bridesmaid one of blue delphinium. The best man was Mr. L. Simmonds. There was a gathering of relatives and a fewfriends afterwards at the residence of the bride’s mother in Burleigh-street, where the usual toasts were honoured, Mr. James Rintoul, uncle of the bride, proposing the health of the happy couple. t -i. Jackson (Raglan, aunt of the bride), pale sea green cloth costume, black hat; Miss ,Patterson (Remuera), blue dress, black hat; Miss Margaret Patterson, • blue dress, black and orange hat; Miss Helen Harrison, white embroidered dress trimmed with pale blue, white felt hat. The bridegroom’s present to the bride was a diamond bracelet, and to the bridesmaids he gave gold bangles. The bride’s present to the bridegroom was a pair of gold sleeve links. Among the gifts received by the newly-married pair were an oak and silver tray from the bridegroom’s fellow employees in Kirkcaldie and Stains’ Napie rhouse, and a chiming hall clock given to him by a number of Napier friends. The bride went away in a navy-blue tailor-made costume, with a navy blue velvet and fur toque, and a set of furs which were a present from the bridegroom. Mr. and Mrs. Steven, after their honeymoon, will take up their residence in Napier.
