April 29. Coronation Fete. The Beautifying Society held a garden fete in the South-street Reserve on M ednesday last. It was a beautiful day, and the fete was a great success. A few among those I noticed were: Mr*. Aylmer, pink frock, black picture hat trimmed with white lace; Mrs. Johnston, pink silk frock trimmed with cream insertion, burnt straw hat with flowers; Mrs. Atkinson, grey coat and skirt, trimmed with black, vieux rose felt hat; Mrs. Revington Jones, dark blue coat and skirt, black velvet hat; Miss Innes Jones, vieux rose coat and skirt, black hat; Miss Prior, tweed costume, large black hat with green ribbon bow; Miss Shannon, blue coat and skirt, burnt straw hat; Mrs. Lawson, navy >ie, vieux rose hat trimmed with b! • <s M. Hill, blue coat and skirt, w>. v hat; Miss Webbe, navy costumr. ..at straw hat trimmed with brown ribbon bow. Personal. Mr. and Mrs. Glasgow are spending a few days in Wanganui. Miss Stave (Picton) is the guest of her sister, Mrs. Seymour. Mr. and Mrs. Walpole, and their daughters left for the Old Country on Wednesday last. Miss Livesey, who has been the guest of her brother, Dr. Livesey, has returned to Marton. Miss Whitehead (Marton), who has been the guest of Mrs. Innes Jon. s, has returned. Miss Foster (Picton), who has been staying with Mrs. Seymour, has returned. Mr. and Mrs. Aylmer are visiting friends in Wellington. Miss O'Halloran, who has been visiting friends in Hastings, has returned. Mrs. Foote (Woodville) is staying with her mother, Mrs. Bailey. Mrs. Oldershaw (Norsewood) is the guest of Mrs. Revington Jones. Miss Godfrey (Ekatahuna ) is the
guest of Mrs. Pickering.
