July 8. The Races. The July races, which took place on the Park Raeeeonrse, were a very successful, though not quite so many ladies seemed present as at other winter meetings. The first day ideal weather prevailed, but the second day’s pleasure was marred by hevy rain. Amongst those attending were: Meedames Sherratt, Mae Lean, F. Barker, Williams, A. Rees, Symes, De Lautour, Parker, Reynolds, Burke, Bright, Maude, Bennett, Jex Blake, Smith, Reynolds, Misses Mae Lean, Williams, Sherratt (2), Symes, Schumacher, Day, Gibson, Smith (Dunedin), Smith, Reynolds, Bennett, Bright, Barker, etc. Personal. The Mieses Reynolds, who have been visting friends in Hawke’s Bay, returned home on Saturday. Dr. and Mrs. Williams returned from a holiday trip to Sydney on Saturday last. Messrs. Monekton and Guthrie Smith returned from the South on Saturday. Mr. P. Graham returned from a visit to Auckland on Sunday. ELSA.
