May 20. Euchre Party. Mrs G. W. Harden was the hostess at a progressive euchre party on Wednesday night of last week. Autumn leaves and yellow chrysanthemums decorated the drawing-room and dining-room, which were both used for cards. Aliss Randolph won the first prize, after keen competition with Aliss Coster, of Nelson, who was only one game less than the winner. Mr Collins won the men’s prize; Aliss F. Robinson and Air Perston were the boobies. The hostess wore a black skirt and dainty eream net and lace blouse; her guest, Aliss Coster, of Nelson, a saxe blue silk toilette, finished with eream lace; Mrs Morrah, eream silk ami lace; Airs Flower (Christchurch), pale green silk, with yoke of cream tucked net; Airs McKnight, pale blue eharmeuse, with net yoke edged with pale blue ball fringe, cluster of pink roses on bodice; Mrs Barnicoat, black silk veiled in black net, shoulder scarf of gold beaded cream chiffon, cluster of crimson flowers in hair; Aliss Barnicoat, white muslin and lace; Aliss Powell (Wellington), pale pink silk and lace; Aliss Randolph, lavender crepe de chene, with knot of shaded mauve hydrangea on corsage; Aliss F. Randolph, pale bine soft silk, with silver trimming and cluster of pale pink roses on bodice; Aliss Alabel Smith, bright pink chiffon taffeta, with cream net yoke; Aliss Robinson, green silk, with touches of darker shade of green velvet; Miss Crook, pale

blue silk and cream Taco: Aliss Beveridge, pale green silk Mi>Eliot, cream and pink striped ■silk, with ereain lace insertion; Mrs Fidler, green charmeuse and cream net; Aliss Edith Wilson, cream toilette, with cream lace and touches of pale blue; Messrs Harden, If. Personal. Mrs Pollen (Wellington) is staying with Mrs <_. Smith, Bank of New Zealand.

Mrs Morrah. Bank of Australasia, has gone to Wellington for a week. ‘The Misses Bell have returned from a fortnight’s stay in Wellington. Mr Edgar (Auckland) has come back to Palmerston for a three week’s holiday.

Mr Perston, of the local stall' of the Bank of New Zealand, has been transferrod to Wanganui. Aliss 1). Tripe has returned from Wellington. Miss Aileen McKnight is back from a

three week’s stay in Masterton.
