Timara-Christclmrcli Road Race.

Some 135 competitors started in th a Timara-Christchurch road race on Saturday. The sun was hot, but the heat was tempered by a faint easterly hreeze. The first competitor started at 8.44, and the scratch man at 9.30. One thousand persona watched the start. Enwood, of Ouraki, lost 13 minutes by a puncture at the start. The race resulted:—P. O’Shea (.Sydenham) 1, Moore (Dunedin) 2, Birch (Christchurch) 3. Five finished close together, O’Shea winning by 6 yards, Birch, 13 yards away t third.
