October 2. On Wednesday afternoon Mrs. Carvery gave one of her charming parties for' Mrs. Robison, of Eltham, who is leaving for Nelson. Mrs. Carbery received her guests in a grey and lavender brocade relieved with bolero of point lace; and Mrs L'niieke, heliotrope silk House with smart green hat with violet. Among the guests I noticed: Mrs. Robison, wearing blue Princess robe braided with black, black hat; Mrs Young, blue and green eoat and skirt braided with blaek; Mrs. Johnston, brown dress, brown hat with pink; Mrs Crawshaw, grey crepe de chine with black hat: Mrs. Paget, green coat and skirt, black and pink hat; Mrs. Robinson, navy coat and skirt, Save blue hst; Mrs. Wake, violet coat and skirt with violet toque; Mrs. Harrison (Eltham), black coat- and skirt, with tan emboidered vest: Mrs. Wilkinson i Eltham), heliotrope Princess robe, heliotrope hat: Mrs. McGarry (Eltham), purple tweed coat and skirt: Miss Trussell. grey coat and skirt. Saxe blue hat: Mis- Wake, brown silk muslin with rose pink hat; Miss Grant, navy taffeta, bright blue hat; Mrs. Copping, cream coat and skirt. Other guests were: Mesdames Hogg, Stubbs, Glasgow. Heatley, Fookes. Porritt, Good. Penn. Raikes, Webster, Munro, Menzies and Miss James (2).
