The annual social of the Tukapa Football Club was held last Thursday evening in the Theatre Royal, and was a great success. Mrs. Arnold George’s orchestra provided excellent music. The ladies’ committee consisted of Mesdames G. Tisch (president), E. P. Webster, Cock, F. Moverley, Clark, O’Driseoll, and Steele; Misses Webster Hanna, Bedford, and Cunningham. The supper table was prettily decorated with spring flowers by Mesdames P. and C. Webster. During the evening the Dan O’Brien and Carbine Shields were presented by the Mayor (Mr. G. Tisch) to the Tukapa first and second fifteens. Amongst the guests of the evening were the members of the Auckland and Taranaki representative teams. Those present included: Mrs. P. Last Monday evening a farewell party was given to Mrs. Kemp in the Dominion Tea Rooms. Mrs. Mathews, on behalf of all the ladies present, presented Mrs. Kemp with a pewter hot water jug.
