SOUTH TARANAKI.
HAWERA, September 3. At Home. Last Saturday afternoon Mrs. Barton gave a delightful afternoon-tea at her residence. She was ably assisted by her mother, Mrs. Nicholas, in receiving the guests. Amongst others preBent were:—Mrs. A. Good, Mrs. JohnBon (Wanganui), Mrs. Gillies, Mrs. Kitto, Mrs. B. Lysaght, Mrs. Moore, Mrs. MeDiarmid, Mrs. Williams,. Mrs. Dunn, Mrs. N. Raine, Mrs. Raine (Wellington), Mrs. T. Atkinson, Misses Good, Miss Lysaght, Miss White, Misses Moore, Miss Latter. Personal. Mrs. Dr. Campbell is visiting Auckland. Mrs. Johnson (Wanganui) is staying Jwith her sister, Mrs. Alan Good. Miss Laisley, who has been visiting Mrs. George McLean, lias returned to her home in Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. C. Bayley have gone to Rotorua. Mr. and Mrs. R. Dunn are visiting Auckland and Rotorua. Mrs. O’Callaghan, Mrs. McLean, Mrs. [Booth (Patea), and Miss Coutts, have gone to New Plymouth to play in the Taranaki Golf Championship. Mr. and Mrs. Kissling and family (Manaia) have left on a month’s holiday to Auckland and Nelson. Mr. Koch (of the Hawera staff of the Bank of New Zealand) is relieving Mr. Kissling. Miss Glenn is visiting friends in New Plymouth.
