July 9th. Ab Enjoyable Evening. The “At Home” given by Afesdames, Stead, Duff and Humphries in the Maraekakaho Hall on Friday evening, was most enjoyable. Visitors from all parts motored to the scene of the festivities and by half past eight o’clock, between 30 and 40 motors lined up round the hall. The dance was delightful, about 140 people were present. Dance music was supplied by Scott Bros., and dancing was kept up till the early hours (4 a.m.). A most delightful faney-dress dance for children, was given by Mrs Godfrey Pharazan. at her residence, “Flstella,” on Thursday, Ist inst. Beamish. Mrs Tanner, Airs Fitzrov. Mrs Lewis. Mrs W. Stead, and Mrs Johnston of “Highden.” The little guests were received by Little Billy and Ruth, Mrs Pharazan s two children. The former, as a French drummer boy, Ruth as ‘‘Fairy Queen,” looked lovely. Amongst the most fascinating were: Little Geoffrey (Louis Napoleon), Joyee Beamish as a little girl of the 17th century, Marie Stead (Pink Daisy), O. Hawkins (Pierrot), Doris, Lean (Buttercup), Little David Pharazan as "Bubbles,” Betty Lewis and Joan Evans (Roses). Hazel Chambers (-Snowdrop), Eugenie Faulkner (Laly of Valley). Personals.
