NAPIER.

Dear Bee, Ocober 23. There was a little uncertainty aboqt the weather on Thursday, for the PEOPLE'S DAY OE THE HAWKES BAY SHOW but in the end it was just what might leave been wished for, and the delightful park nt Hastings was visited by a large crowd. What a - charming resort, the show ground is on a lovely day; the lawns were bathed in mellow sunshine, and the spring frocks added to the pretty effect. During the afternoon the Hastings Town Band played an excellent programme. Jago, a popular member of the staff of Williams and Kettle, was pre* sented by his. fellow employees last week with a handsome piece of furniture in honour of his approaching marriage. Mrs. Appleby, of Christchurch, is in Napier for some weeks. Mr. S. H. Cranby, of Napier, is on a visit to Rotorua. » Miss M.
