CLUB “AT HOME.” On the same afternoon (Thursday) the members of the New Plymouth Club also held an “At Home” for their lady friends in their new and prettily-arrang-ed room. This Club, which was greatly needed, has just been inaugurated, the principal supporters being Mr. Tisch (Mayor). Messrs. A. Humphries, Hadrell and Enroth, assisted by a very strong committee, and there are already over two hundred and fifty members on the roll. During the afternoon vocal and instrumental items were contributed by Misses Hallett and Ward and Messrs. F. Cornwall. B. McEwen, Woodard. Mr. S. Blanford (Wellington) gave some very amusing monologues, as well as vocal items. Alexander looked sweet as-Prince Charming in a court suit of purple slashed with pale pink, stockings and high-heeled buckled shoes, hair powdered; Misses Winnie Alexander and Loris Fitzherbert looked very well in Turkish costume, in. pale blue and scarlet respectively; Miss ‘Sybil Fitzherbert looked charming as-Powder and Patches in black evening dress, with Maltese lace berthe, pale blue sash; Miss “Midge” Glasgow looked very pretty in a pale pink dress with flowered panniers, hair powdered and dressed high; Miss Doris Mills, Kate Greenaway, in white muslin, scarlet bonnet; Kathleen Mills, .Scotch lassie; Miss'Nora Jackspn, white silk dress, pale yellow ribbons; Margaret and Mona Corkill, Scotch girl and Fisher Girl respectively; Geraldine Kyngdon made a charming Peasant Girl; .Sybil Dixon, Spanish Dancing Girl; Miss Doreen Watkins looked sweet as Harvest; Miss E. Mr. and Mrs. R. V. Morris (Wellington) are on a short visit to New Plymouth. Miss M. Evans (New Plymouth) has gone to join the nursing staff at the Sanatorium, Otaki. Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Gray have returned to'their future home in New Plymouth after their honeymoon trip to Rotorua and Auckland. , , Miss Webster, who has been visiting her.sister (Mrs. R. Lusk, Parnell), has returned to New Plymouth. Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Nolan (Hawera) have gone for a trip to Australia.
