Their ' ’ ■ ’ : . . .i, >■> . . SONG RUHJITAL took place in the Theatre Royal last Monday, and was received by a musical and representative audience, who thoroughly appreciated the good programme. Mrs. Mallinson’s beautiful voice has been praised by all critics, and she sings solely to lender the effect' which the composer desires to get, and not to show off her vocal powers. Dr. Henley has returned to Napier from a visit to Wellington. Mrs. Fell, of Nelson, is on a visit to Napier. Mr. Stewart, manager of the Napier branch of the Union Bank, leaves for London next week by the lonic, and will return to his duties not later than April. Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Baker left this week for Taupo by coach. Colonel Davis, accompanied by Mrs. Davis, have returned to Wellington from a visit to Napier. Miss Gladys Brandon, of the Wellington Telephone Exchange, has been transferred to the Napier Exchange. Captain Bower, of the New Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Turakina, which arrived in Wellington last week, was married before his vessel left London. The passengers by the steamer presented the Captain with a handsome service of entree dishts to mark the event. Mrs. and Miss Dalrymple (Rangitikei) are on a visit to Napier. Mr. James Coates, general manager of the National Bank, has been on a visit to Napier. Mr. and Mrs. Ross have returned to Dunedin from a visit to Napier. Mrs. H. Gillies returned to Hamilton last week from a visit to Napier. Mrs. Nantes, of Napier, is spending some weeks in Sydney. -Mr. Miles and Miss Miles, of Wellington. are on a visit to Napier. Mrs. St. Hill, of Porangahau, has been in Napier for a few days. Mr. J. Cargill has returned to Napier from a. visit to Dunedin. Mrs. and Miss Chapman have returned to Wellington from Napier.
