Dear Bee, - March 13th. There was a very sparse attendance at the PALMERSTON TENNIS COURTS on Saturday, and those who were there were wrapped up in warm eoats. Mrs. Broad and the Misses Preece gave afternoon tea. Mrs. Broad was wearing a wine-cyoloured coat and skirt, green hat with roses; Miss Preece, navy Norfolk coat and skirt, pale blue linen hat; Miss Sheila Preece blue Eton costume, white embroidered cloth collar and cuffs, green hilt with bows; Miss Waldegrave, scarlet linen, eream hat with black silk and scarlet flounces; Miss Hayword in navy blue, the coat made with a short basque, cream hat with cluster of grapes; Miss Ida Hayward, brows tweed costume made with long coat, hat with silk scarf; Mrs. Pickett, long brown cloth coat, black hat with blaek feathers; Mrs. Uendall, Mrs. Benell, Miss Broad (Greymouth), Miss Kirby (New Plymouth), Mrs. Fuller, Mrs. Thompson, Miss Wilson and others. PERSONAL NOTES. Mr. and Mrs. J. Waldegrave have returned from their wedding trip to Australia. : Miss M. Wylds is visiting Napier for the carnival. - ' • Miss T. Bell has gone to Feilding for a few days, on a visit to her sister, Mrs. E. W. Hitchings. = Mrs. Venell, Oamaru, spent a few days with Mrs. McKnight on her way to Wanganui. ■ ■ Mr. and Mrs. Miller and family left Palmerston this week for Dunedin, where they will reside in future. Miss Kirkby (New Plymouth) is staying with Mrs. Pickett, Palmerston. • Miss Fenton (Auckland) is visiting Mrs. Walter Strang, Palmerston. Mrs. Preece, who has been some weeks in Australia, returned home to Palmerston this week. Mr. Reedy of the local Bank of Australasia, left this week on a month’s trip to Australia. Miss Aspinall (Dunedin), who has been staying with her sister, Mrs. D. Reed, for some time, returned home last week. Mr. Miller,' manager of the Bank of Australasia, w T ho has recently been appointed manager of the Dunedin branch, was presented by the staff with a travelling rug, previous to his departure from Palmerston. Mr. and Mrs. F. Hewitt have returned from their wedding trip.
