Dear Bee > March 13. People have been so busy preparing for next week’s carnival that they have not had time to think of social events, and so there is little or nothing to tell you about. Next week, however, I hope to let you know all about the festivities. PERSONAL aastival. ffigr bm Mrs. Sheriff, of Gisborne, is spending some weeks in Napier. ° Di. and Mrs. Tosswill, of Hastings, have gone on a holiday visit to Taupo. Mrs. M. Barry, of “Grisoge,” intends leaving on a trip to Ireland.Miss Baker has returned to New Plymouth from a visit to Napier. Miss Macdonald, of Gisborne, is spending a week or two in Napier. Mrs. Peacock, of Patea, is in Napier for a week. Miss K. Smith, of Wellington, is visiting friends in Napier. Mr. C. Forster and Miss Forster left Napier last week for Wellington en route to Sydney and London. Mrs. L. McHardy is in Wellington for several weeks. Mr. and Mrs. A. Hawkins returned to Napier this week, after spending a year in England. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ward, of Patangata, intend taking a trip to the Old Country, at the end of this month. Mrs. Kettle has been in Wellington for a few days. - The Misses Williams have returned to Napier from a visit to Taupo. Miss Chambers has been spending some weeks in Napier. Miss Kettle has returned to Napier from a visit to the South. Mr. Harold Gregson, of New York, has been appointed as organist and choirmaster of the Napier Cathedral, and is on his way now. Dr. Leahy has returned from Sydney. Miss Kate Hitchings left Napier last week for an extended visit to London. Miss Campbell has returned to Wellington after spending some weeks in Napier. Miss Ada Peake, of Auckland, is the guest of Mrs. Horace Baker, Hawke’s Bay.
