Dear Bee. Afareh 16. A MOST DELIGHTFUL “AT HOME” was given by Air and Airs W. Empson on Saturday, 10th inst. The day was an ideal one for a garden party, and the picturesque grounds at the Collegiate School were looking their best. Re-

freshments were spread on small tables dotted about on the lawn under the large shady trees. A brass band discoursed sweet music. Numbers of the guests amused themselves with shooting and putting competitions. Airs Empson received her guests in a handsome gown of black and white foulard with yoke of fine white laee. she wore a scarf of lace on her shoulders, black and white chiffon toque with black lace and tiny flowers on the brim. Blundell, Dodgshun, Dawson. Misses Brewer, Gresson, Pratt, Brabant O’Brien, Watt (Wellington), Gilfillan (Auckland), Messrs. Dymock, Ixmias, Hardwicke, Blair, P. Lewis and Dr. Wilson. Mr. and Mrs. H. Hole, of Wanganui, are in the Rangitikei district.
